Job summary

Synergize Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior OT Security Engineer to deliver cyber security across hardware/electronics products. The role is hybrid, based in Bristol with two days on-site per week, and requires active SC clearance.

You will work with engineering teams, perform threat modelling, risk assessments, and support Secure by Design and accreditation processes across the product lifecycle, including firmware, hardware architectures like electro-optics, radar and laser

Qualifications

• Live security clearance (SC).
• Minimum of three years’ experience in Cyber Security or related engineering.
• Experience with MOD accreditation and Secure by Design (ISN2023/09) processes.
• Experience managing cyber security risks per regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to proprietary/open-source software, firmware and electronic hardware.
• Understanding of architectures with electro-optics, radar and laser systems.
• Exposure to OT and IEC 62443 standards.
• Experience developing and evaluating cyber security designs from concept to system level.
• Experience conducting risk assessments including threat modelling and vulnerability analysis.
• Experience translating cyber requirements to system controls.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cyber security across the full engineering lifecycle from requirements to in-service support.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and product specialists to implement secure designs.
• Support accreditation activities and Secure by Design initiatives across products.
• Conduct cyber and information security risk assessments, threat modelling and mitigations.
• Evaluate hardware/firmware security considerations in complex electro-optics, radar and laser systems.

Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Hardware/Electronics)

Hybrid remote in Bristol (2 days a week)

Up to £76 p/h Inside IR35

We are looking for a security cleared Senior OT Security Engineer to support the delivery of cyber and information security across a range of advanced products and systems. You’ll work closely with engineering teams and product specialists, delivering cyber security throughout the full engineering lifecycle from requirements definition and secure design through to in-service support and maintenance.

• Live security clearance (SC)
• Minimum of Three years’ experience working in a Cyber Security, Cyber Engineering or related engineering role.
• Experience contributing to MOD accreditation and Secure by Design processes, including ISN2023/09 and associated policies and practices across the product lifecycle.
• Experience managing cyber security risks and services in line with customer, regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Exposure to proprietary/open-source software, firmware and electronic hardware.
• Understanding of product architectures incorporating technologies such as electro-optics, radar and laser systems.
• Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) and relevant standards such as IEC 62443.
• Experience developing, evaluating and analysing design constraints and detailed system/security designs from a cyber security perspective.
• Experience working with cyber security requirements through to system control level.
• Experience conducting cyber and information security risk assessments, including threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and assessment of mitigations.
