Security Engineer at a Leading Algorithmic Trading Firm

Fantastic opportunity to join a leading algorithmic trading firm as a hands-on, technical Security Engineer. The firm specializes in electronic market-making across FX, equity, fixed income, and commodity markets, and is renowned for attracting top talent.

The Information Security team is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s security, both physical and IT. In this role, your main focus will be ensuring that users and developers operate in the safest environment. You will collaborate with software engineers to identify security flaws proactively, architect technical solutions, anticipate incidents, protect against attackers, enhance detection capabilities, and design defense controls.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of security roles and projects, including compliance tasks and analyzing third-party software and services.

Requirements

1. 3-5 years of experience in Information Security with a proven track record of successful large-scale security design and deployments.
2. Strong knowledge of academic Computer Science, including system-level programming.
3. Programming experience in at least one statically typed language (e.g., Golang) and scripting in Python.
4. Deep familiarity with UNIX and Windows authentication systems; knowledge of other areas is a plus.
5. Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to a range of audiences from senior management to technical engineers and non-technical colleagues.
6. Experience in fields such as cryptography, OS development (Kernel or Userland), and familiarity with Kerberos and related authentication technologies.
7. Previous experience in the finance industry.
