Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd. in Bristol is seeking a DV-cleared Red Team Operator or Offensive Security Consultant for a challenging role delivering threat-led assessments and adversary simulations across defence and government environments.

The position is Bristol HQ with travel to local sites, offering up to £86 p/h inside IR35 and opportunities to lead offensive engagements, develop tooling, and mentor colleagues within a national security context.

Qualifications

• Current DV clearance
• Proven experience delivering red team operations, adversary simulation or advanced penetration testing
• Relevant red teaming or offensive security certifications
• Strong technical expertise in at least one specialist area (initial access, cloud exploitation, malware development, detection evasion, operational security, etc.)
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across Bristol and the South West
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, CAF or NIST
• Certifications such as RTO, RTO2, OSCP, OSEP, OSED, OSCE, CREST CRT/CCT or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Red Team Operations: Plan and deliver threat-led security assessments, adversary emulation and advanced penetration testing engagements.
• Offensive Security: Apply specialist skills across areas such as initial access, cloud exploitation, malware development, detection evasion, operational security and adversary simulation.
• Tooling & Infrastructure: Design, deploy and maintain the infrastructure, cloud environments and security tools required to support offensive security operations.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction during engagements, collaborate with colleagues and share knowledge to strengthen team capabilities.
• Customer Engagement: Work with customers and stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle, from scoping and planning through to execution, reporting and debriefing.

Are you an experienced DV CLEARED Red Team Operator or Offensive Security Specialist looking for your next challenge in national security and defence?

We’re looking for a technically strong offensive security professional to deliver red team operations, adversary simulations and advanced security assessments within complex defence and government environments.

This is an opportunity to use your expertise to simulate realistic cyber threats, identify vulnerabilities and help organisations strengthen their security against sophisticated attackers.

What you’ll be doing

Essential skills and experience

• Current DV clearance (Please do NOT apply if you do not hold this level of clearance)
• Proven experience delivering red team operations, adversary simulation or advanced penetration testing.
• Relevant red teaming or offensive security certifications.
• Strong technical expertise in at least one specialist area, such as initial access, cloud exploitation, malware development, detection evasion, operational security, physical security testing or adversary emulation.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites, primarily across Bristol and the South West.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, CAF or NIST.
• Relevant certifications such as RTO, RTO2, OSCP, OSEP, OSED, OSCE, CREST CRT/CCT or equivalent.
