Job summary

Coram AI is hiring its first Security Lead to own security, IT and compliance across the business. You will steer certifications, run security reviews with customers, and translate policy into automated controls with engineering guidance across the US, UK and India.

The role involves building the function, shaping the security roadmap, and partnering with sales to move deals faster while protecting data and privacy for diverse clients including government and enterprise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security, compliance or IT leading a security program in a B2B startup or scale-up.
• Led a SOC 2 Type II audit and another framework such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, CJIS, CMMC, ITAR or FedRAMP.
• Experience selling to enterprise/government and partnering with sales on security reviews.
• Technical with scripting and cloud basics; identity platforms and device management.
• Able to communicate risk to non-technical stakeholders and push back when needed.
• Experience leading or building a team is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own compliance programmes end to end (SOC 2 II, ISO 27001 etc.).
• Lead frameworks (NDAA / TAA, HIPAA, CJIS, CMMC, ITAR, FedRAMP) decision on certification.
• Partner with sales on customer security reviews and due diligence.
• Own data flows, retention and privacy controls for video and biometric data (GDPR, BIPA, state rules).
• Automate onboarding, off-boarding and access reviews; manage identity, SSO, MFA, device management and endpoint protection.
• Own IT systems and vendors across US, UK and India offices.
• Work with engineering on security fixes and incident response; lead customer communications when needed.
• Build a prioritised security roadmap; report progress and hire as the function grows.
