Job summary

Computer Network Defence Ltd (CND) is seeking a Software Engineer in Cheltenham to build secure, mission-critical Android applications with Kotlin and modern backend services. The role covers end-to-end delivery from concept to deployment in highly secure environments, collaborating with engineers, architects, and DevOps teams.

You will improve mobile and backend systems while adhering to best practices and SC clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Kotlin development experience.
• Android app development expertise.
• Experience with Git and modern workflows.
• Understanding of MVVM, OpenAPI, APIs and software design principles.
• Exposure to backend development using Rust, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build scalable backend services using Rust, Python, or Go.
• Design and consume web APIs and modern architectures.
