Job summary

Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and operate automation platforms within AWS Security Epoxy. You will design features, own operations, and deliver robust, well‑tested software using Python/TypeScript and AWS services.

You will mentor teammates, contribute to on‑call rotations, and help partner teams adopt solid engineering practices, all while maintaining a high bar for security and reliability in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object‑oriented design.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver features and components that solve difficult problems across Epoxy's services.
• Own the operational excellence of the systems you work on: instrument them, alarm on signals, and automate to reduce toil.
• Write high quality, well tested code with clear documentation and runbooks for maintainability.
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to high‑severity requests, and drive permanent fixes.
• Improve resiliency, scalability, and safety of systems operating at high scale, balancing short‑term needs and long‑term maintainability.
• Lead code/design/operational readiness reviews and provide actionable feedback to peers.
• Mentor newer teammates and influence partner teams to adopt sound engineering practices.
