Our client is seeing a Security Assurance Coordinator to join a highly trusted team overseeing a secure network system operating above standard security levels. The team is responsible for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of a highly classified system, coordinating closely with service delivery teams, technical partners, and oversight stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on security across high-assurance IT systems.
- Liaise with operational and technical stakeholders to ensure compliance with defined security certifications and user vetting requirements.
- Investigate and support the response to suspected or actual breaches of system security, in accordance with structured incident response protocols.
- Provide specialist advice to local administrators, system authorisers, and end users.
- Accompany and support system audits, physical assurance reviews, and site inspections at secure locations, including data centers and recovery sites.
- Ensure secure change control, proper disposal of classified assets, and adherence to agreed operational security management procedures.
- Lead or support the development and enforcement of system security procedures that balance business needs with confidentiality, integrity, and availability principles.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure the consistent application of structured governance and escalation practices.
- Ensure continuous awareness and response to current threat and vulnerability intelligence.
- Review configuration management records, monitor privileged access, and verify proper password and asset handling procedures are followed.
- Support security incident investigations and reporting activities, liaising with appropriate investigative bodies.
- Ensure system updates and changes follow agreed security authorisation processes.
Experience Required:
- Proven background in information security, assurance, compliance, or risk management.
- Experience in regulated, high-security environments such as government, critical national infrastructure, or financial institutions.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across technical, operational, and non-technical teams.
- Strong ability to conduct audits, physical checks, and ensure adherence to high assurance standards.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office tools and secure documentation management.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in small, high-trust teams, using sound judgement and initiative.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with secure credentialing and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) operations.
- Experience with secure access devices or similar user identity management systems.
- Certifications such as ITILv4 Foundation or Agile SAFe Foundation.
- Membership in professional bodies such as BCS, ISACA, or IISP.
