Job summary

Netcompany is seeking an experienced IT Security Consultant to guide security posture across the UK business and client projects. You will oversee data protection, threat prevention, audits, and security improvements while mentoring staff and aligning with national and international standards.

You will train teams, run internal audits, and drive accreditation efforts such as IPSA. The role focuses on risk identification, strategy development, and ensuring business continuity across programmes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an IT security management role.
• In-depth knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and technologies.
• Familiarity with UK security policy and standards.
• Experience of ISO27001, CE+, Secure by Design, JSP 440 and JSP 604.
• Familiarity with security products and evaluating their performance.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and database security.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud security, Microsoft 365 Security, and Compliance policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify potential security risks to our IT systems.
• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and measures.
• Monitor and analyse security metrics to proactively address emerging risks.
• Upgrade existing security systems or design new ones tailored to our needs.
• Conduct regular security audits and simulate breaches to test response protocols.
• Manage disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity in case of security incidents.
• Secure weak points in our IT infrastructure and maintain compliance with international and national network security standards.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Train and supervise IT security staff, fostering a culture of security awareness within the organisation.
• Support customer organisations with defining, improving and managing their security posture.
• To guide an oversee IPSA accreditation
• To provide support to the Personnel and Facilities Security Managers
• Provide oversight for security posture within UK business
