Job description

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Architect Lead to support a public sector programme in Berkshire on a 12-month contract paying up to £90 per hour inside IR35. The successful candidate will have proven experience delivering technical security leadership across enterprise environments, including cloud architecture, assurance, and secure systems design.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Proven experience in security architecture and cyber capability development
  2. Strong background in secure systems design, risk mitigation, and assurance activity
  3. Experience working across large, multi-disciplinary teams within regulated environments
  4. Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to engage at all levels
  5. Aware of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical input into secure system architecture and security control design
  2. Review solution designs to ensure security compliance and effectiveness
  3. Lead on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across projects
  4. Support IT Health Checks, risk assessments, and internal assurance processes
  5. Advise managers on control implementation and performance improvements
  6. Contribute to the ongoing maturity of organisational cyber capability

Essential Requirements:

  1. DV (Developed Vetting) clearance
  2. British Citizen with 10 years’ UK residency
  3. Experience in secure, enterprise-scale environments (cloud and on-premise)
  4. CISSP, CESG Certified IA Professional, or equivalent qualifications
  5. Strong understanding of security frameworks and architectural methodologies
  6. Excellent interpersonal and cross-team collaboration skills
