Overview

It is an exciting time to join HM Land Registry as a Security Consultant / Architect. Security is at the heart of everything they do, underpinning critical national infrastructure and enabling secure digital services for citizens and businesses. This role will strengthen HMLR's security capability by providing both strategic advice and practical expertise. Salary £57,400 - £71,300 plus 29% pension contribution and other Civil Service benefits. Flexible, hybrid working from Plymouth.

HMLR's ambition is to become the world's leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data. Their existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales. They are now looking for two Senior Security Architects to join our Transformation and Technology directorate.

The role sits within HM Land Registry's Security Domain of the Architecture Practice, which shapes the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap.

As a Security Architect you\'ll design and govern secure systems and services, develop security patterns and documentation and ensure alignment with cross-government initiatives. You\'ll deliver high-level architectural designs and artefacts, stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to roadmaps that guide HMLR's future technical direction.

  • Ability to enable and inform risk-based decisions, identifying vulnerabilities to prevent and respond to cyber breaches
  • Track record of protecting organisational assets through effective security measures
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Actively informed of industry trends and developments, applying emerging technologies in a creative and cost-effective way

  • Expectation is to be working from the Plymouth office 60% of your time across the month (typically 3 days/week), hours are flexible and condensed hours are an option.
