Job summary

SiXworks is seeking a Security Architect to drive secure delivery for internal and MOD projects, including Kubernetes environments and live services. You will contribute to security architectures, risk management and regulatory evidence.

The role requires collaboration across Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Agile and Cyber Security teams, with a focus on secure-by-design approaches in Azure and government contexts. A clearance-ready profile is preferred.

We're looking for a Security Architect who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.

What You'll Do

As a Security Architect, you'll carry out secure delivery of internal and MOD projects. This will require supporting technical agile teams in delivering Kubernetes environments for proof of concepts, internal SiXworks infrastructure and live services for our customers

Your work may include:

• Develop Security Cyber architectures for systems.
• Strategic direction of Security projects.
• Managing security risk for projects.
• Producing evidence to meet various MOD regulations.
• Designing options and solutions to mitigate risks vulnerabilities.
• Understanding the security implications of bringing cutting-edge technology to government.
• Working with various teams across the business including Software Engineering, DevSecOps Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Agile and Cyber Security.

What We're Looking For

We value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don't need to tick every box, but we're particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:

• Carrying out technical design work for secure government systems deployed to Cloud
• Experience of working on threat assessments using industry approved methodologies (e.g. STRIDE).
• Carrying out security work on DevSecOps/Kubernetes environments
• High standards in written report and/or design documentation

• Support development in a secure-by-design methodology.
• Hands on security engineering within Azure and M365 environments
• Knowledge of MOD policies (JSP 440, 453/604, 892)
• Knowledge and experience of Agile, CI/CD principles and their application in secure environments
