Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Guide cross-functional engineering teams on secure-by-design principles in IAM, network, and pipelines.
• Oversee root-cause analyses and direct remediation during critical incidents.
• Translate technical risk into clear business recommendations for senior executives.

Cybersecurity Architect (AI and emerging technologies)

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in London, Birmingham, or Sheffield)

Salary: £300 to £400 a day Inside IR35

A well-established, top-tier firm is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Architect to lead a crucial AI and digital platform initiative. In this highly visible role, you will act as both a strategic architecture leader and a technical authority-bridging the gap between traditional enterprise risk frameworks and the rapid deployment of GenAI, machine learning models, and hybrid cloud ecosystems.

You will be responsible for the following

• Drive AI Security Strategy: Champion the definition and deployment of security controls, frameworks, and guardrails for artificial intelligence applications across global operations.
• Architect Scalable Defense: Lead the architectural design across cloud (AWS/Azure), hybrid, and on-premises environments, aligning controls with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and enterprise risk appetite.
• Technical Engineering & Automation: Guide cross-functional engineering teams in embedding secure-by-design principles across IAM, network defense, endpoint security, and automated pipelines.
• Incidents & Threat Intelligence: Oversee deep-dive technical root-cause analyses and provide technical direction during critical vulnerability remediations.
• C-Suite & Stakeholder Advisory: Translate complex technical risks into clear, business-focused recommendations for non-technical senior executives and technology owners.
• Team Leadership & Growth: Mentor and elevate a senior team of security architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical rigor and continuous innovation.

Essential Skills

• 8 + Years in Cybersecurity architecture in enterprise or regulated environments
• Good working knowledge of AI/ML security, threat vectors, and risk frameworks.
• Strong grounding in NIST, ISO 27001, cloud security, and cryptography.
• Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or AWS/Azure Security.
• Proven track record guiding technical teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

6 Months contract - Hybrid working 3 days in office (any office from the location below)

London, Birmingham or Sheffield (either location is fine)
