Job Description:

Whitehall Resources is currently seeking a Security Analyst with Nextlabs expertise and active SC clearance for an initial 6-month contract. The role is based 60% onsite in Cumbria and 40% remote.

Important: This position is inside IR35 and requires active SC clearance.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Security Operations:
  • Support the Head of IT Security Operations and deputise in their absence.
  • Manage daily security analyst tasks related to security tickets and service requests.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage security incidents.
  • Develop thorough remediation plans to resolve incidents.
  • Influence stakeholders to ensure timely incident resolution.
  • Respond to incidents and gather forensic information as directed.
  • Differentiate between intrusion activity and false alarms.
  • Conduct incident post-mortems, analysis, and reporting.
  • Security Tooling:
    • Provide hands-on leadership in security tooling management.
    • Advise on security risks and assurance to stakeholders.
    • Lead incident response and manage escalated alerts.
    • Follow up on remediation actions and audit findings.
    • Conduct security education and awareness training.
    • Manage security technologies, services, and processes.
    • Support security reviews, change control, architecture assessments, and risk management.
    • Collaborate with internal teams including IT, HR, DPO, Audit, and Risk.
    • Stay informed about emerging security threats and enhance cybersecurity strategies.
    • Assist in adopting security controls and compliance frameworks like NIST, ISO, and PCI.
    • Work with technical architects to develop security design specifications.
    • Provide security training during project onboarding.
