Job description

Security Analyst

Southampton - 3/4 days on site

£45,000 - £52,000 + + Industry leading Pension and Benefits!

We’re seeking a Security Analyst to join our security team and help ensure that the tools, platforms, and technologies we adopt are secure, suitable, and aligned with our standards from day one.

This isn’t a supplier-facing role — instead, you’ll be focusing directly on the products we evaluate and implement, reviewing them for security fit, control coverage, and technical soundness before they’re brought into our environment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Review new products and tools before adoption to ensure they meet internal security and compliance standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to determine if a product is fit for purpose in a secure environment.
  • Identify security controls required to protect assets when introducing a new product or system.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and procurement teams to assess risk and recommend mitigations.
  • Dig into product documentation, configurations, and architecture to spot gaps and ask the right questions.
  • Provide guidance on how to integrate new tools into existing environments securely.

What you'll bring:

  • A security-aware mindset — you’re curious, analytical, and keen to understand how and why things work (or don’t).
  • A strong understanding of infrastructure and system design — you likely have a background in infrastructure, systems engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • Ability to recommend appropriate security controls based on the risk and context of the product.
  • Comfortable assessing everything from cloud tools to endpoint software and internal systems.
  • Strong communication skills — you’ll need to explain your assessments clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
