Job description

Job title: Security Advisor - Physical & Technical (ID: 00125861)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £35,802.00+

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide advice and guidance on the application of protective security within a regulated, commercial environment, as required to enable critical programmes of work.
  • Identify, assess and report security risks and issues to Business Managers and other Stakeholders, applying and maintaining proportionate protective security controls as required, in accordance with applicable contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external Stakeholders to understand their security requirements, interacting confidently and effectively through varied communication approaches.
  • Gather and assess security data, preparing high-quality reports or presentations to disseminate information across teams and management.
  • Collect and collate evidence in accordance with agreed company security assurance requirements.
  • Physically conduct security surveys across the Company estate, supporting the identification and assessment of risk and the prescription of mitigating action.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Background in Security within the Defence sector, Law Enforcement or other High-Hazard Industry within the Critical National Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience of internal and external Stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrable experience of Problem Solving in a business environment, preferably in a Security context.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the deployment of Technical Security measures.
  • Experience in the production of Operational Requirement documents.

The Physical & Technical Security Assessments Team:

You will join a team of Physical & Technical Security Professionals working in collaboration with peers across other security functions and the wider business, to protect BAE Systems and Customer assets, in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You will support the development and application of policies, processes and support activities in line with the security strategy to support complex, innovative programmes of work. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
