Job description

Position Summary

This position is based in TCW’s London office and reports into the Co-Heads of Global Securitized Products on TCW’s Fixed Income team. This role requires working onsite at least four days a week. The IABS/EU CLO research analyst/trader will join the broader Securitized team to focus on identifying and sourcing attractive investment opportunities for client portfolios, getting best-execution on sales and/or swaps as needed, and conducting broader portfolio and market surveillance.

Essential Duties

  • Broader IABS/EU CLO credit work and trading:
    • Help cover the IABS/EU CLO new issue and secondary markets, along with broader ABS/CLO team
    • Help propose trade ideas and run bid lists, as needed
    • Help conduct ongoing surveillance on existing holdings
    • For individual security selection, help conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on loans and managers/issuers, including deal document review, price/yield analysis, historical collateral performance, rating agency publications, etc.;
      • Perform on-site diligence and coordinate banking and syndicate calls as needed.
  • General market research:
    • Help contribute to broader IABS/EU CLO market coverage and trends – including calls with Wall Street trading and banking, managers/issuers, etc. and reviewing relevant research and data

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; minimum two years in IABS and/or EU CLO analysis and/or trading
  • Intex, Bloomberg and advanced MS Excel
  • Experience in Python, SQL, and/or VBA

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated and resourceful with an excellent work ethic; entrepreneurial spirit

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For London based position, the base salary range is £125k – £145k. This represents base salary range only.

Other Compensation: In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
