Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking an experienced VMware Architect for a secure programme delivering enterprise infrastructure solutions in a high-security environment. This 12-month+ contract role is based in the South West with 100% on-site work starting in September 2026.

The role requires design leadership across VMware VCF/NSX-T, AD/ADFS, Windows and Linux platforms, and heavy emphasis on security, compliance, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical or Infrastructure Architect.
• Strong VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX-T experience.
• Enterprise networking, security, firewall, routing, and switching expertise.
• Active Directory and ADFS architecture experience.
• Windows and Linux infrastructure knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
• Active UKSV DV clearance (transferable).
• Hybrid cloud and IaC experience desirable.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions
• Produce High and Low Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs) and technical documentation
• Provide technical leadership throughout project delivery
• Architect VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX-T environments
• Design enterprise networking, firewall, routing, and switching solutions
• Provide expertise across Active Directory, ADFS, Windows, and Linux platforms
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and operational standards
