Protecting government assets is a big-picture operation for us. That’s why our Technical Security team is made up of all kinds of talent. From security design engineers creating solutions for global threats to technical installers guarding the UK’s most sensitive assets in real time, this team provides the full spectrum of protection for the UK around the world. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Keeping people and information safe.
Solving unique problems.
Broadening your horizons.
It all matters.
Solve technical challenges that safeguard global security
You’re the person who keeps secure systems running safely, no matter where in the world the job takes you. One day, you might be inspecting or repairing critical equipment at a busy post: the next, you’re providing remote support to colleagues across multiple time zones. Whether you’re part of a larger team or working solo on the ground, you’re there to make sure everything operates smoothly, securely, and in line with the highest standards.
But it’s not just about the technical work. You’ll be training local staff, helping manage logistics, carrying out health and safety checks, and staying in step with global service expectations. You’ll build trusted relationships with key people on the ground – from Post Security Managers to Heads of Mission – and contribute to a global mission that relies on your expertise every single day. This is technical security work with real impact, and you’ll be right at the centre of it.
Turn technical ability into real impact
You’re a technical-minded professional with a Level 3 qualification in electronic engineering or something similar, and you’re confident using those skills to solve real-world problems. You work well under pressure, whether you’re out in the field or supporting a wider team, and you’re someone others trust to get things right the first time. Dependable and focused, you take pride in your work and the relationships you build along the way.
You’re comfortable working on your own, but you also know how to bring people together, whether it’s customers, colleagues or senior staff. If you’ve worked in secure environments or led others before, even better. But more than anything, you’re proactive, curious and ready to keep learning. You’re not just here to do the job. You’re here to do it well and help the people around you do the same.
Grow your career with excellent benefits and support
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
