Secure by Design Architect – Security Assurance

Job summary

LA International is seeking a Security Assurance Specialist to embed Secure by Design across the lifecycle of systems, services and projects, providing independent governance and risk management in a secure environment.

You will work with architects, engineers and stakeholders to identify risks early, review designs, conduct risk assessments and ensure controls are implemented without unduly delaying delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Security Assurance, Information Security, or Cyber Security.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Secure by Design principles.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of security architecture and secure system design.
• Experience performing security risk assessments and documenting security controls.
• Understanding of the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to interpret and apply security standards and best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience reviewing technical designs and providing security assurance recommendations.
• Ability to balance security requirements with operational and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Champion Secure by Design principles across projects and programmes.
• Provide security assurance throughout the SDLC.
• Review designs, architectures, and implementation plans for compliance.
• Conduct security risk assessments and propose mitigations.
• Support security accreditation and assurance in secure environments.
• Review security documentation and ensure traceability of requirements.
• Collaborate with solution architects, engineers and stakeholders to embed security from the outset.
• Evaluate solutions against security baselines and frameworks.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation activities.
• Contribute to governance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of threats, vulnerabilities and changes to security standards.
