Job description

Who We Are

Covering Wessex, Sussex, and Kent, the Southern Region is one of the busiest and most dynamic parts of the railway. Our teams keep some of the UK's most vital passenger and freight routes moving every single day. This is a place where collaboration, innovation, and resilience are key-and where your contribution will directly impact millions of journeys. We are entering an exciting new chapter as we integrate with train operating companies under one national leadership, creating even greater opportunities to shape the future of rail. From supporting major modernisation programmes to improving performance for local communities and enhancing safety across complex operational environments, Southern offers a fast-paced, rewarding environment to grow your career and make a real difference.

This is an exciting time to be part of the Southern Region Works Delivery Team, as we take on major infrastructure improvements in the years ahead.

Control Period 7 (CP7) brought about the opportunity to deliver capital works in new ways. Network Rail has taken the opportunity to build upon the lessons of other major programmes and portfolios to drive greater value and efficiency into project delivery and created the Southern Renewals Enterprise.

Works Delivery is one of the five partners in this Enterprise with a workbank of £1.3bn this Control Period, delivering schemes across Track, Signalling, Telecommunications, Electrification & Plant, Buildings and Civils. So, come and join us and have the opportunity to develop in a multidisciplinary organisation that delivers 400+ projects a year, providing you with the ability to develop and grow your career.

You’ll be playing a key role in ensuring we have a safe, efficient, and reliable railway for both passenger and freight services across the Southern Region.
