Section Manager in Teacher Training – FE College – Part-time (4 days) – Permanent – Uxbridge
Title: Section Manager in Teacher Training
Location: Uxbridge
Schedule: 4 days per week (28.8 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) – Working days must include Wednesdays & Thursdays, also must be available to teach one evening per week
Deadline: 21st April 2025
Actual Salary Range: £37,234-£40,517 per annum

The role as a Section Manager in Teacher Training:

The purpose of the post is to ensure the recruitment, retention and achievement of college staff and external students on Teacher Training and other relevant courses, to manage the curriculum and assist with staffing arrangements for these courses.

The role of Section Manager for Teacher Training will include that of a Leader in Learning and will also support other colleagues with the development of innovative teaching methodology and support the Manager of Teaching and Learning in the development and updating of Teaching and Learning Website.

Qualifications

1. A degree or relevant professional qualification
2. A recognised advanced teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE, DET or equivalent)
3. Assessors awards A1/2
4. Verifier awards (V1)

Knowledge

1. Good understanding and expertise in pedagogy
2. Good knowledge of Ofsted ITE & EIF frameworks
3. Knowledge and experience of implementing the awarding body standards
4. Up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in teaching and learning

Skills and Experience

1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience of curriculum management
2. Experience as an Advanced Teaching Practitioner
3. Experience of Teacher Training and/or substantial experience of staff development
4. Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience (post-qualification)
5. The ability to enthuse and inspire students
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Excellent classroom and teaching practice
9. IT skills and willingness to develop them
10. Using IT within the curriculum
11. Tutoring, mentoring and coaching skills
12. Experience of team working
13. Evidence of continuing professional development
14. Available to work on Wednesday and Thursdays, and willing to teach 1 evening per week
15. Self-motivation
16. Commitment to learners and learner achievement.
