Job summary

Park Cakes is seeking a Section Manager for its Oldham bakery site to work night shifts. You will oversee a production area, leading a team to maximise quality, service and efficiency while meeting targets and deadlines.

You will manage KPI performance, develop staff, promote Health & Safety, and maintain high standards for auditors and customers, reporting to the Bakery Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and organise projects, tasks, labour and resources.
• Excellent communication and listening skills and computer literacy.
• Able to use initiative to achieve goals and targets.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial KPI’s of the production area to an agreed standard.
• Ensure production targets are met within deadlines, using resources efficiently.
• Provide leadership and support to the Charge Hands, and staff development within the department.
• Promote health & safety standards and ensure policies are adhered to.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding quality, service and people issues.
• Ensure the area is presented to high standards for auditors and customers.
• Develop staff training and liaise with the Bakery Manager.
• Drive improvements in GMP/Hygiene and participate in cross-functional teams.
• Support the Bakery Manager and Factory Manager as required.

Section Manager – Oldham Site £38,243

Job Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Section Manager to work in one of our bakeries on Nights. You will be responsible for an area of the bakery. You will be required to work as part of a team to maximise the quality, service and efficiency at all times.

Duties

• Manage the financial KPI’s of the production area to an agreed standard.
• Ensure that production targets are met within agreed deadlines, making best use of resources and materials.
• Provide leadership and support to the Charge Hands, and manage and facilitate staff performance and development, ensuring the departmental structure and skills are developed to meet changing job requirements.
• Promote ‘Best in Class’ standards for Health & Safety, ensuring the company’s Health & Safety systems and policies are strictly adhered too.
• Effectively communicate at all levels on matters regarding quality, service, and people issues.
• Ensure that customers (internal and external) receive a high standard of service and the area is presented at all times at peak standard with auditors and customers.
• Develop staff training and liaise with the Bakery Manager.
• Drive improvements in GMP/Hygiene

Candidate Profile

Hours

06:00 - 14:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 - 13:00 Friday

Flexibility around hours of work is required in order to accommodate business requirements as necessary.
