Job description

Job Title: Section Engineer (Structures) - Major Infrastructure Project

Carmichael is seeking to recruit a Section Engineer with structures experience for a major infrastructure project based in Wendover.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage junior engineers and assist the Sub Agent in construction operations.
  2. Report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to project close-out.
  3. Assist with temporary works design schemes and liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials.
  4. Manage the site setting-out team and oversee the performance and development of Site Engineers.
  5. Identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub-Agent.
  6. Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure work is completed to contractual requirements.
  7. Ensure the team has all necessary information and resources.
  8. Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  1. HNC/Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or related field, with progress towards institute membership (ICE).
  2. Knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities and construction supervision skills.
  3. Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage is essential.
