Job summary

Sizewell C Limited in Suffolk is seeking a Section Engineer for pre-construction enabling works on the Sizewell C project. Based on site, you will support earthworks and civils preparation under the Civil Works Alliance.

You will coordinate earthworks design, planning and execution, ensuring safe systems of work and timely delivery. The role requires a current UK driving licence, willingness to travel, and strong collaboration with client and contractor teams on a major energy project.

Section Engineer - Pre Construction Enabling works - Sizewell C, Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within theEnabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

The scope of the Enabling Works and Earthwork is the design, planning, procurement and execution of some of the early SZC civils scope including – Earthworks trials phase monitoring for soil behaviour and on- site testing, assessing a variety of earthworks backfilling operations, placing and compaction methods. Maintaining site records and daily diary.

Knowledge & Skills

• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
• Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems
• Knowledge of Project Management methodology.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willing to work away from home.
• Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
• People Management experience and relationship management skills
• Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control.

Qualifications & Experience

• HNC/HND/Degree in relevant discipline and/or relevant Site Experience within the Construction Industry
• CSCS card
