Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Section Engineer to support a major infrastructure project. You will manage engineering activities within a defined section, coordinate site teams and ensure works meet drawings, specs and programme deadlines.

Candidates should have Tier 1 contractor experience, strong setting-out and quality control skills, and hold a CSCS card with SSSTS/SMSTS qualifications plus a full UK driving licence. RAMS familiarity is essential for safe delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Section Engineer on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
• Strong set-out, engineering checks and quality control.
• Knowledge of RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Valid CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification, and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities within an allocated section of works, ensuring delivery in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Coordinate Site Engineers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Oversee setting out, dimensional control and engineering checks, resolving technical issues as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards, including reviewing RAMS and implementing safe systems of work.
• Manage inspections, quality records, non-conformances and handover documentation.
• Monitor progress against programme, identify potential delays and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate resources, materials and subcontractor activities to maintain productivity.
• Maintain accurate site records and contribute to progress reporting, cost control and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with project management, design teams and other stakeholders to resolve engineering and construction issues.
