Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support a major infrastructure project. The role focuses on engineering control within a designated section, ensuring safety, quality and programme alignment.

Candidates should have proven Section Engineer experience on large-scale infrastructure for Tier 1 contractors, with highway, structures or utilities exposure. A valid CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS are required, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Section Engineer on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction engineering, setting out and quality control.
• Valid CSCS card and SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Familiar with RAMS and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities within an allocated section of works, in line with drawings and programme.
• Coordinate Site Engineers, subcontractors and site teams to work safely and efficiently.
• Oversee setting out, dimensional checks, and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and QA standards, review RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Manage inspections, quality records, non-conformances and handover docs.
• Monitor progress against programme and address delays with corrective actions.
• Coordinate resources, materials and subcontractor activities to maintain productivity.
• Maintain accurate site records and support progress reporting and cost control.
• Liaise with management, design teams and stakeholders to resolve issues.
