Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to own a defined section of works on high-profile UK infrastructure projects in Greater London. You will lead site engineers and technicians, ensure technical excellence, and drive delivery through Digital Engineering, DfMA and modern construction techniques.

Based on site, you will report to a Senior Engineer, develop teams, manage setting out, surveys, quality and safety, and collaborate with design and commercial teams to meet

Qualifications

• Experience in a construction delivery environment.
• Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying and engineering controls.
• Experience with quality management processes, inspections and testing.
• Understanding of construction methodologies and temporary works.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Taking technical responsibility for a defined section of works from planning through to delivery.
• Managing and developing Site Engineers and technicians within your team.
• Overseeing setting out, dimensional control and survey activities.
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications, quality requirements and inspection/test plans.
• Managing technical queries, design information and change control processes.
• Coordinating temporary works activities and supporting safe construction practices.
• Working with operations, commercial and design teams to meet programme objectives.
• Monitoring quality, subcontractor performance and delivery outcomes.
• Promoting best practice in health, safety and environmental performance.
