Job description

Section Engineer Major Highways Project
Location: Chiverton to Carland Cross, Cornwall
Start Date: ASAP 450/day Freelance

TRIbuild Solutions are proud to be partnering with a leading tier-1 main contractor on one of the South West's flagship infrastructure schemes - the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross dualling project. This high-profile Design & Build job involves 12.5km of new dual carriageway, delivering the final upgrade between Redruth and Exeter.

Our client is looking to bring on board an experienced Section Engineer to support works across the main site compound and key drainage packages.



Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan, programme and coordinate works within the main compound

  • Support drainage scope: drawing reviews, buildability checks, surveys, spec compliance

  • Set out using GPS, EDM or Total Station across a variety of disciplines (drainage, ducting, earthworks, fencing, structures, etc.)

  • Produce RAMS, material take-offs, and liaise on labour/plant needs

  • Maintain accurate site diaries and QA documentation

  • Carry out CAT & Genny surveys, H&S checks, and permit management

  • Attend regular site meetings with internal and external stakeholders



Requirements:

  • CSCS card (relevant to role)

  • SSSTS or SMSTS

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering

  • Confident setting out and interpreting technical drawings

  • AutoCAD, CAT & Genny, First Aid - desirable but not essential

  • Flexibility for occasional weekend work with notice
