About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Balfour Beatty’s team as a construction partner for the Rolls Royce expansion work in Raynesway, Derby. This project is part of a long-term programme over the next eight years, involving infrastructure works, new manufacturing and office facilities, and redevelopment of existing industrial buildings.

As a Section Engineer, you will lead a team of Site Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Foremen to deliver various construction packages.

What you'll be doing
  • Carry out complex setting out
  • Coach team members in setting out techniques
  • Produce Activity Control Plans
  • Maintain quality records
  • Review Method Statements and Task Briefings
  • Prepare and raise Temporary Works Briefs
  • Create weekly programmes and monitor KPIs
  • Communicate targets and progress to the workforce
  • Reconcile labour and plant usage
Who we're looking for
  • Experience in complex setting out
  • Ability to produce Activity Control Plans
  • Knowledge of Specification and Contract documents
  • Understanding of Permit Systems and active permit raising
  • Proactive hazard identification and control implementation
  • Understanding of key contract documentation
  • Familiarity with subcontractor terms and conditions
