Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting for a Section Engineer on a major highways infrastructure project near King's Lynn, Norfolk. The role delivers setting out, surveying and site coordination on a long‑term contract with a leading Tier 1 contractor.

You will oversee QA processes, RAMS and ITPs, manage subcontractors, and ensure works meet safety standards and programme deadlines on this high‑profile National Highways scheme.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure.
• Strong setting out experience.
• Experience with QA documentation and ITPs.
• CSCS card essential and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for highways and civil engineering works.
• Managing subcontractors and site operations.
• Completing QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS.
• Supporting drainage, earthworks, pavement and structures packages.

Section Engineer required for a major highways infrastructure project near King's Lynn, Norfolk, working with a leading Tier 1 contractor on a long-term National Highways scheme.

The Role

As Section Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering works, ensuring safety, quality and programme targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for highways and civil engineering works.
• Managing subcontractors and site operations.
• Completing QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS.
• Supporting drainage, earthworks, pavement and structures packages.
• Maintaining accurate as-built records.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or Senior Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out experience.
• Experience with QA documentation and ITPs.
• CSCS card essential.
• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
• Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
