Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Section Engineer for a major highways infrastructure project near King's Lynn, Norfolk. The role focuses on setting out, surveying, and supporting delivery with safety, quality, and programme targets in mind.

The candidate will manage subcontractors, produce RAMS, and maintain accurate records, ensuring works align with NEC contracts where applicable and site specifications.

Qualifications

• Strong setting out experience on highways or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with QA documentation and ITPs.
• CSCS card is essential.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable.

Section Engineer | Highways Project | King's Lynn, Norfolk | £350/day Outside IR35

Section Engineer required for a major highways infrastructure project near King's Lynn, Norfolk, working with a leading Tier 1 contractor on a long-term National Highways scheme.

The Role

As Section Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering works, ensuring safety, quality and programme targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for highways and civil engineering works.
• Managing subcontractors and site operations.
• Completing QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS.
• Supporting drainage, earthworks, pavement and structures packages.
• Maintaining accurate as-built records.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications and programme requirements.
• Promoting excellent health, safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or Senior Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out experience.
• Experience with QA documentation and ITPs.
• CSCS card essential.
• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
• Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
