Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. You will support civil/site engineering delivery, ensuring quality, safety and environmental standards are met throughout survey, construction and commissioning stages.

Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering with experience as a Section/Site Engineer on construction projects is required. Proficiency in surveying, setting-out and progress reporting is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field required.
  • Experience as a Section or Site Engineer on construction or civil projects.
  • Strong surveying and setting-out skills.
  • Solid understanding of QSE requirements for projects.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve technical problems at all levels on site.
  • Carry out inspections per ITP and site standards.
  • Produce survey information and red-lined drawings for as-built records.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and in date per requirements.
  • Ensure construction works meet contract requirements and procedures.
  • Provide clear and accurate information to site personnel.
  • Supervise outputs and ensure environmental requirements are met.
  • Manage materials on site per manufacturer and project specs.
  • Assist Site Management with KPI updates and progress reporting.

A day in the life of a Murphy Section Engineer:
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
  • The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
  • Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
  • Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
  • Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
  • Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports.

  • Degree qualified Civil Engineering or Similar
  • Previous experience within a Section or Site Engineer role
  • Experience on Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
  • Experienced in surveying and setting out techniques
  • Sound understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability project requirements.
