Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a Section Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects across East Anglia, initially focused on road schemes in Harwich and Leiston. This role is key to progressing site works, managing setting out activities, and supporting quality and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with site management to complete quality take-offs

  • Identify commercial risks or opportunities on the project

  • Prepare risk assessments and method statements, highlighting control measures

  • Conduct site inspections and testing to ensure works meet design and specification

  • Mentor and support junior engineers

  • Manage site setting out and surveying using Leica/Geomax equipment

  • Maintain and issue service drawings and permits

  • Provide records and data to support commercial claims and project tracking

  • Manage as-built data and contribute to health and safety file completion

  • Ensure works comply with company procedures and safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements

  • Strong setting out experience on highways, roads, or earthworks projects

  • Proficient with Leica/Geomax and AutoCAD data transfer

  • Good understanding of ITPs, QA processes, and construction practices

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Eastern region

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • First Aid at Work qualification desirable
