Job summary

Carmichael UK are recruiting an experienced Section Engineer to join a major Tier 1 highways contractor delivering a high-profile infrastructure project in East London.

This role focuses on managing a section of works from planning through to delivery, ensuring quality, programme and safety objectives are achieved. You will provide technical support to site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure engineering activities are delivered efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience as Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out and engineering background.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes, ITPs and inspection records.
• Ability to interpret drawings and resolve technical issues on site; CSCS Card.
• SMSTS preferred.

Responsibilities commonly include overseeing engineering requirements, managing documentation, supporting quality processes, and coordinating site activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects
• Strong setting out and engineering background
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes, ITPs and inspection records
• Ability to interpret drawings and resolve technical issues on siteCSCS Card
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• SMSTS preferred
