Overview

Are you ready to embark on a career where your professionalism meets confidentiality, your meticulous nature thrives, and your ability to handle pressure shines? We are recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated Secretarial Assistant to join Ophthalmology within the Head & Neck Unit at Peterborough City Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of an efficient, responsive and flexible service to support the secretarial team, consultants and their medical team, and to assist in the smooth running, participation and efficient organisation of daily routine duties in the Ophthalmology department.
  • Provide a high volume of accurate and comprehensive typing of clinical letters, paying attention to detail at all times.
  • Ensure the provision of patient pathways that are receptive to patient needs and responsive to Trust requirements and national/local targets.
  • Be responsible for office duties, including dealing with post, scanning and filing patient documentation as necessary.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by dealing with incoming telephone queries appropriately and in a timely manner, upholding confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide assistance to the other members of the team and assist with their workloads as necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • High degree of professionalism, meticulous work approach and the ability to work under pressure at times.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail in clinical correspondence.
