Job summary

The Education Specialists in Stoke are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support students in secondary schools. You will work under teachers to help pupils complete tasks, promote independence, and develop confidence in a busy classroom environment.

A DBS check is required or applicants must be willing to obtain one. QTS or equivalent is preferred for teaching roles, with ongoing training and strong support from a team of education consultants.

Qualifications

• Experience working in secondary schools or similar settings.
• Experience supporting and managing young people such as youth groups, sports coaching and mentoring.
• Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one.
• Teaching roles require QTS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils to complete set tasks within the classroom
• Occasionally on a 1:1 basis
• Promoting independence within the school environment
• Developing confidence of the pupils
• Implementing and maintaining learning strategies
• Supporting pupils to achieve their individual education targets
• Working in partnership with teachers and other TAs to provide a stable, positive environment for learning
