Job description

Are you flexible, patient, caring and confident with children and young people? Secondary Teaching Assistant required for a mainstream secondary school in Bridgwater, TA6

* £90 - £125 per day, depending on experience

* 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only

* 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday

* Up to £125 per day for candidates with extensive experience or qualifications such as Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 2 or above

Not only will you gain invaluable first-hand experience in a secondary school environment, you will also have the opportunity to network with Speech and Language specialists and ELSA practitioners based at the school. This is also a great opportunity if you have considered a future in teaching or education.

About the role

* Working in a mainstream secondary school that has a high number of pupils with SEND needs

* Deliver classroom support for Key Stage 3 pupils either 1:1 or groups of students

* Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all students as required

* Support the teaching in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress

* Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the classroom

* Supervise students between lessons and when entering and leaving the school

The right candidate

* Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent

* Experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs.

* Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public

* Good ICT skills
