Job summary

Bright Star Talent Limited is recruiting Secondary Teaching Assistants for day to day and long term placements at a secondary school in Burton upon Trent. The role supports KS3/KS4 pupils, including those needing help with learning, engagement and behaviour.

You must hold an enhanced DBS processed within the last 12 months and be prepared for early morning calls and short-notice travel. You will work with teachers to adapt resources, support SEND learners, and foster independence and positive

Qualifications

Enhanced DBS processed within the last 12 months.
Experience with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school.
Patient, confident approach and ability to build positive relationships.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Availability for day-to-day bookings or long-term placements.
Ability to travel to Burton upon Trent.
Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Support pupils in lessons, helping them understand tasks and stay engaged.
Provide one to one and small group support.
Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and meet individual learning needs.
Support pupils with SEND, following their plans and guidance from school staff.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Share feedback with teachers on pupils’ progress and any concerns.
