Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £84 - £108 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Daily Supply | Long-Term Placements Available

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic secondary school in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting student learning, development, and achievement.

About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons, provide tailored support to students across various subjects, and help foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Secondary TA:

1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
2. Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities
3. Support students with varying learning needs, including those with SEN
4. Promote a positive learning atmosphere that encourages confidence and progress
5. Monitor student progress and share feedback with teaching staff and parents
6. Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies to ensure a safe environment

What We’re Looking For in a Secondary TA:

1. Experience working with secondary-age students (preferred)
2. A solid understanding of the secondary curriculum and subject flexibility
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. A patient, proactive, and supportive approach to learning
5. A team player who can build positive relationships with staff and pupils

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

1. Have the right to work in the UK
2. Provide an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years
3. Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply through GSL)
