Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 8:30am – 4:20pm

About the Role:

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–16 with a range of SEN needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to ensure every student receives tailored support, enabling them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, respectful classroom environment.
• Support with personal development and social skills where required.
• Assist in monitoring student progress and adapting support strategies as needed.
• Prepare classroom resources and contribute to lesson planning and review.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN is desirable.
• Must be a driver due to school location and travel between sites.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a supportive nature.
• Able to adapt strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with any gaps explained).
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
