Secondary Teaching Assistant - Shirehampton, Bristol
Do you want to help students overcome barriers to learning and realise their full potential?
We are currently recruiting for proactive, empathetic and passionate Teaching Assistants to work in a mainstream secondary school in Shirehampton - Bristol (BS11).
Start: ASAP, ongoing to August 2025
Salary: £90 - £125 per day, depending on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm, Term time only
- Provide extra support to students with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
- Work under the direction of teaching staff to deliver and adapt learning activities for pupils one to one or in small groups.
- Supervise pupils during break periods.
- Build positive relationships with students to promote their academic success and emotional well-being.
- Encourage students to develop self-confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Maths and English GCSE (Grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
- Extensive prior experience within an education establishment as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, unqualified teacher, etc.
- Possess good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
- Be confident with ICT skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
