Exciting Opportunity for SEND Tutors & Mentors - Flexible Part-Time Hours - £25-£30 per hour

Position Details:

Position: SEND Tutor / Mentor
Salary: £25-£30 per hour (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Part-time, flexible (up to 15 hours per week including planning)

About TeacherActive:

We collaborate with local authorities and virtual schools to provide 1:1 tuition and mentoring for students with SEND outside of formal education settings. We seek compassionate, experienced educators to support learners at home or in community settings like libraries.

Role Overview:

This role involves working with vulnerable students requiring personalized support outside mainstream education. Tuition is based on EHCP outcomes, not the national curriculum, allowing for tailored sessions to rebuild confidence, promote re-engagement, and support emotional wellbeing.

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 support in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) aligned with EHCP outcomes
• Plan engaging, personalized lessons within your 15-hour weekly schedule
• Provide academic and pastoral mentoring for learners with SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Build trusting relationships to help learners thrive outside traditional classrooms

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) Essential
• Strong understanding of SEND and strategies for supporting disengaged learners
• Experience working 1:1 or with students outside mainstream settings is highly desirable
• Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach
