Pay Scale: £150 - £260 per day depending on experience & Contract Type

As a Secondary teacher, your responsibilities typically include more than just marking and planning, although those are important aspects of the role. Here are some key responsibilities you would typically have:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum and your subject s specific learning objectives.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Use a range of innovative teaching strategies, including technology and real-world examples, to bring subject content to life.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students through creative teaching approaches that encourage active participation and a passion for learning.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, provide regular assessments, and give constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that fosters learning, discipline, and mutual respect.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure cohesive and effective delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the school community.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with developments in your subject area and education in general, participating in continuous professional development.


The successful candidate for Secondary Teacher will have:

  • Secondary teaching experience, with at least 12 months of classroom teaching experience (placements can be counted).
  • Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with valid teaching qualification (such as B.Ed. or B.A) with a PGCE. Teachers having ECT/NQT status are also welcome to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • DBS on Updated Service.
