GSL Education is seeking a dynamic Secondary Teacher to work at thriving Secondary Schools in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.

Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons based on curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
• Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments tailored to diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment encouraging student participation and expression.
• Monitor and record student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance; communicate findings to parents and administrators.
• Maintain a respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes active participation and a love for learning.

Secondary Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant qualification (e.g., B.Ed., B.A. with PGCE). ECT/NQT teachers are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience teaching in a Secondary School setting.
• Passionate about teaching with effective engagement techniques.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, classroom management, lesson planning, patience, and empathy.
• Provide a safe, supportive environment fostering learning, progress, and aspirations.
• Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
