Secondary Teacher (Daily supply)
Location: Sunderland

Salary: £
140 to £240 per day
Start Date: September 2024

GSL Education are seeking dynamic Secondary Teacher (Daily supply) to work at a thriving Secondary Schools in Sunderland, starting in September 2024 .

Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons to students based on the curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
  • Creating lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, asking questions, and participating actively in discussions.
  • Monitoring and recording student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance, and communicating this information to parents and school administrators as required.
  • Participating in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions to contribute to the overall improvement of the school and students' learning experience.
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.

Secondary Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Secondary teaching experience, with at least 12 months of classroom teaching experience (placements can be counted).
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with valid teaching qualification (such as or with a PGCE. Teachers having ECT/NQT status are also welcome to apply.
  • Passionate about teaching and in command of techniques to keep students engrossed.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
  • The ability to direct a team of Support Assistants and work as part of a wider team across school if need be.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and classroom behaviour management, lesson-planning, patience and empathy.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment where all pupils are encouraged to learn, progress, and have aspirations for the future.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
