Job summary

A specialist educational agency is seeking a resilient SEN Teacher to support secondary boys with SEMH at a Pupil Referral Unit in Wimbledon. The ideal candidate will deliver structured lessons, build strong relationships with students, and maintain a positive classroom environment. A teaching qualification and experience in SEMH or PRU settings are essential. This role is temporary to permanent with competitive daily rates.

Qualifications

  • Choosing and delivering adapted lessons for pupils with SEN and SEMH.
  • Experience in PRU settings is preferred.
  • Utilize trauma-informed practices to support students.

Responsibilities

A specialist PRU supporting boys aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, focused on reintegration and personal development.

About the role:
You will deliver structured and supportive lessons in a small group setting, helping pupils re-engage with education and build essential skills.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Deliver adapted lessons for pupils with SEN and SEMH
- Build trust and strong relationships with students
- Maintain a calm, consistent, and positive classroom
- Work closely with pastoral teams, therapists, and parents

Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
- QTS or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience with SEMH or PRU settings
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A trauma-informed and empathetic approach
