We are looking for Secondary Teachers with a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning. Teachers with experience in Secondary or Specialist settings are suitable, and you must be prepared to teach students of all ages. Experience working with Autistic pupils, willingness to teach and lead on curriculum areas, are desirable. Service Overview

New Barn School offers a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum for boys and girls aged 6–19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health complexities.

The school leverages its beautiful setting, promoting outdoor education including forest school, farm experiences, and horse riding. It is within a commutable distance of Swindon, Oxford, Andover, Basingstoke, Reading, and surrounding areas.

Job Summary

Duties include:

  • Teaching a variety of subjects
  • Planning, preparing, and assessing lessons, staying updated on curriculum developments
  • Creating and implementing individual education plans, assessing attainment, and setting targets
  • Building relationships with students to encourage engagement
  • Creating stimulating environments outside formal classrooms

Key Skills Required:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience teaching a range of subjects at a good or outstanding level
  • Knowledge of current education practices and curriculum issues
