About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher with experience supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to join a specialist secondary school in South East London. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people with complex needs, providing tailored teaching, care and support to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with PMLD at secondary school level.
  • Develop and adapt resources to support a wide range of learning, communication and physical needs.
  • Use creative and sensory approaches to engage students in their learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider SEND team to provide holistic support.
  • Track progress and maintain accurate records in line with EHCP requirements.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experienced Unqualified teachers will be considered
  • Proven experience working with pupils with PMLD in a special school or SEND setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies, including PECS, Makaton, and sensory integration.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs.
