Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnet
Contract: Permanent (flexible options may be available)
Start: September
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm approximately
Salary: £19,500 - £25,400

Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant - role information:
As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom (multiple subject areas).
* Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
* Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
* Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Encouraging independence and confidence in students.
Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant - requirements:
* A 2:1 or above from a top UK university
* Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a positive attitude.
* Has a good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
* Is proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Considering a career in teaching or Educational Psychology.
