Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching assistant to work in a Secondary SEN school in central Birmingham. The school is rated ‘good’ in their latest Ofsted inspection and has a strong and welcoming atmosphere within the staff team.

Responsibilities
  • Have a sole focus on working in small groups
  • Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the child, staff and family members.
  • Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
  • Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
Qualifications
  • An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
  • A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3) previous support workers or behaviour mentors are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
  • Experience working with Primary school children.
  • At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
